My love of dogs started very early in my life (I begged my veterinarian to hire me at 13 years old) and despite starting a different career after college, I found myself with a void that only animals seemed to fill. I started volunteering for an animal rescue in 1998 and began training dogs in early 2001 while simultaneously helping to manage the animal rescue. I eventually became the manager of a 5 star boarding/training facility featuring doggie daycare, boarding, training, grooming and a wellness center. Training dogs as well as managing an animal rescue helped expand my knowledge of rescued animals and some of the issues they sometimes come with.
I've done Pet Therapy with my own dog, trained other dogs and owners for Pet Therapy work, worked with Service Animals, taught dog trainer students, educated children on dog safety as well as adults on responsible pet ownership.
Training dogs has always been one of my passions, and opening up my own business in Simi Valley has been very rewarding. I’m the mother of two wonderful children and an energetic Golden Retriever mix named Piper so I know what it’s like to balance family and pets. (We lost our 3 beloved dogs over the last few years that were the namesake of my business.)
I continue to evolve as a trainer and it is my desire to pass on my knowledge and experience to you so that communicating with your dog is fun, natural and makes sense.
I am also an AKC CGC Evaluator and can conduct Canine Good Citizen testings.

"I can't recommend Jennifer enough! Not only did she understand how my dog thinks, but she knew how to communicate that to us! After six weeks, the dog that I had been incredibly frustrated by has been replaced by a well behaved dog, that I truly enjoy and connect with. Best of all, she gave me the tools to work with him going forward. She really worked with us to come up with specific strategies for our family that actually work. I am so happy that we called Jennifer. She is the best!"

Stacy Lavender loves all things canine, and has lived in the company of dogs, ranging from toy breeds to extra-large breeds, her entire life. She attended her first dog training class at the age of 18 years old with her Rottweiler pup named Anja and has had a passion for training her own dogs ever since. Stacy advocates for ALL dogs, but has a soft spot for the underdogs and has fostered dozens of rescue puppies and adult dogs over the past nine years, during which time she gained a tremendous amount of experience in dog training, including basic obedience, socialization, confidence building, and a good understanding of dog body language.
Her philosophy in dog training is to have fun engaging with your dog while teaching, and in turn your dog will be happy and willing to learn. Stacy has been interning, learning, and assisting me with private lessons and is enthusiastic and eager to help more dogs and their owners alike in building a healthy, happy relationship. Stacy lives in Simi Valley with her husband of 27 years, along with their eclectic pack of rescue dogs.
